What Precautionary Measures Are Advisable After A Hip Replacement Surgery?

I need a hip replacement, so my question is.... Would I be able to work after my surgery? My work is dietary aide in a Nursing Home and I have to be on my feet 7 hours a day and I work full time (I have to work fast and to be on time to serve food to residents.)

Hi,

Not immediately. Certainly many people get back to that level of activity. It depends a lot on the particular person. Besides age and fitness level there is overall MASS. so, if someone is 5 foot and 100 pounds, quite similar hardware is used in someone 3X as big but the 5 foot person will be able to tolerate more activity sooner. 2 weeks is fast, 6 months is slow. so gradually building up to full activity by about 3 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
