What Precautions Need To Be Taken For Tetanus After A Injury?

Skin scrapes caused by a brass disc on a door knob. Slightly bled 36 hours ago. Immediately put a bromide liquid and covered it with a band aid. Does a cut by brass metal lead to tetanus? Till what time one should take a tetanus shot after a cut/bruise by non-ferrous / ferrous metals?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Tetanus shot must be taken ideally after an injury. Its effect is said to last for 2 years following a vaccine some say even 5 years.in view of the disease being so deadly its recommended to be taken following any contact of an open wound with soil or any rusty material if its been more than 2 years.
Hoping this helps.
