What Precautions Needs To Be Taken Care Of After Bladder Sling Surgery?

What restrictions are in place after bladder sling surgery? My doctor advised that I was not to lift more than 10 lbs. for six weeks. No vacuuming, sweeping, etc. We have very heavy doors to get into the office where I work and I have three that I need to go through to get in to my office area. Since I can not vacuum, which includes pushing and pulling, I would suspect that the doors might be a no-no for me as well. We are trying to find a solution in the office building, but I want to make sure that I will not cause myself any problems.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You should not lift heavy objects and do not use vigorous physical exercises. These all increase the pressure inside your abdomen and the problem will reappear. You can do all other routine activities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
