What Precautions Should Be Taken For A Pregnant Woman With Heart Disease?

I am 17 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my 3rd baby. Last year I was diagnosed with SVT and had a cardiac ablation in June of 2014. Since being pregnant I now get a rapid heart rate at times. My question is I will be having my baby Via c section because my first two were c section. will I be okay during delivery? I am terrified that i will die during delivery due to my anxiety causing me to have a rapid heart rate.

Hello,

You can check your pulse rate during sleep (sleeping pulse rate) to know a base line pulse rate. Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety as it can cause rapid increase in heart rate. You can chose a tertiary care centre with cardiology services for delivery. You need a C-section as your previous deliveries were through C-section. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
