What Precautions To Be Taken For Third Banding For Esophagus Varices Bleeding?
I had a bleed from esophegus varices on 5th Feb, was in ICU and banding was done. Again second banding was done on 22nd. By the time in auti imune test results were 1:40. Now my doctor says tha I still need one more session of banding. last banding was done after giving me 4 units of plasma as my INR was 1,9 secs. what should I do now. what precautions should I take.
* As per my surgical experience, the issue of variceal healing is time taking and certain precautions must be followed
- strict control of diet as to avoid particular bony type stuffs in non-veg food, aerated drinks, spices, garlic and other irritants
- avoidance of smoking, alcohol if consuming
- control of blood sugar, cholesterol, body weight
- avoid excess shouting or retching
- regular intake of ulcer healing drugs as per the prescription of your consultant
- PT INR control with the scheduled follow up of the surgeon
* Consult your doc immediately in case of any minor issue.
