What Quantity Of Budesal Is Recommended For Recurrent Cough In Children?
Hi, My son is 5years and he is getting frequebnt cold and cough. Our first paediatrition put him on budecort and duolin nebuliser but it didnt worked well as the things were coming back again. We took the second advise and doctor put him on budesal 0.5mg repsules for nebuliser. The things are under control. We hv to nebulize him every alternate day. My worry is that he should not get addicted to budesal. Please clear my doubt. Thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child is having recurrent cough which is not recovering even after taking medications which means your child is having severe upper respiratory tract infection and poor immunity of body is there. You should give Budesal nebulation to your child before sleep and do it on 1-2 days in a week so as to avoid any addiction.I would suggest you to give it for short duration,. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Go for chest x-ray of child to check extent of infection. Give child steam inhalation. Avoid cold beverages to child. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Give vitamin C pellet to child and dietrich in multivitamins.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
