I had a quadruple by-pass in 1987, a stent 10 years ago and two years ago a nuclear stress test disclosed 3 bypasses were occluded, the mamarian artery was fine and all capillaries were clear. I am scheduled for another nuclear stress test and am concerned. Should I be?
1. Any worsening of the disease as compared to previous scan- this will help in deciding the choice of treatment. You should discuss with the scan results with your cardiologist.
2. If you were given any treatment/lifestyle modification after the first nuclear stress test, then evaluation of the response to the treatment on the images i.e improvement on the images.
