What Should I Do About Swelling, Pain, And Yellow Discoloration In My Left Calf After Intermittent Methamphetamine Use?
I have been addicted to meth for 3 years now but I don t use everyday. The last time I used I ended up having swelling and pain in my left calve muscle. The color of that lower leg is a yellow tinge like bruising. It is 5 days now and not getting better. What should I be doing to fix it
Methamphetamine causes vasoconstriction of blood vessels. It may be indicative of a blood clot in a vein in the thigh, calf or lower leg. Since it is already 5 days and not getting any better, you are advised to get it clinically examined by a GP, get all required blood tests, investigations (D-dimer blood test, venography, duplex ultrasound, and imaging tests (MRI) etc., done.
Deep vein thrombosis if neglected can become life threatening. Get examined, assessed and evaluated at the earliest so that treatment can be started at the earliest. Get connected to a detox center & come out of the addiction gradually but successfully.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
