What Should I Do As Have White Spots On One Tonsil?

My daughter (42) has had some small white spots on the back of her tongue and tonsil for a few days; now she has a large black spot on one tonsil, and today she has become hoarse with some fever. She was a smoker until a month ago. What do you think?

Hello,
You should consult an ENT specialist white spots and hoarsness of voice suggest spread of infection in the throat and needs antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines to be taken.
I am not sure of the black spot on tonsil. That could be a food debrie i suppose but needs to be examined.
AT least at home you could start lukewarm saline water gargle that will help in decreasing the pain and will clean any pus or food material sticking on the tonsil.
In doubt do reply.
