What Should I Do If Eustachian Tubes Are Filled With Fluid And Causing Pain?
I have chronic problems with my eustacian tubes being filled with fluid, ccausing it to be hard to hear, and feeling like I am under water. For the last couple of weeks, I have this pain on the left side of the base of my skull, when I yawn. Could this be connected?
I am Dr Sriram Nathan an ENT surgeon and I shall try to help you out with your problem.
You have mentioned that first your ear is closed and base of skull is paining.
This finding can be seen in many conditions though the most common would be a eustachian tube defect or just a wax plugging your ear canal or sinusitis to name a few
In any case you may do the following: - You must take steam inhalation at least three times a day for a week
-You may also add an antihistamine like levocetrizine for early recovery.
Wait for a week or two and in case the hearing does not improve and the pain persists or gets worse then get the test done and get back to me or any ENT
