Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My dental hygienist checked my BP yesterday. It was borderline high bp, I guess 136 over something. The portable wrist cuff showed a heart sign that she said suggested a heart murmur? I don t know whether this is worthy following up with my cardiologist. Why would my dental office be checking blood pressure?
Hi systolic blood pressure 136 is presystplic hypertension and life style modification will revert things back to normal, , heart murmer are usually auscultated through stethoscopes meant for this purpose, even there are automatic machines to listen to murmer , yet by tying it on wrist its not possibe to listen to a murmer. you can follow up with a general practitioner , and he will auscultate you.. Checking blood pressure is a basic protocol before any medical procedure ,
hi, You can buy one electronic bp apparatus and monitor your bp. At this stage no treatment is needed. Jus monitor the bp and have low diet and daily exercises. No need to worry.
