What Should Be Done For Regulating The Periods Which Is Been A Problem For A Long Time?

My period hasn't worked properly since I lost my virginity (last august). Last time I had my period it continued for over a month so i
I went to see a dr who gave me pills to stop the bleeding. Now my period came a month late and is still continuing. I've taken after protection pill in october but I dont know if its the thing that effects. All pregnancy tests I've taken have been negative. What's wrong with me? Should I start using hormons to control my period?

Hi,
You have not mentioned date of your periods. Still I will try to think of the possibilities -
- First time when you had prolonged bleeding after 1 month delay in menses, you had also started with your sex life then- so the first possibility of prolonged bleeding goes in faver of misscarriage.
- Next time you took after protection pill, which has hormones in high dose & so is known to disturb period for a short while.
- The third possible thing is hormonal imbalance/ Pcod -which can disturb menstrual cycle.
So, If you had regular periods before August, I would would suggest you to-
- Use some other contraceptive ( like condom) , wait for a couple of months ,to see if periods get normal .
- Once it's normal start using regular contraceptive with a Gynecologist's advice.
- If the irregularity persists, visit a Gynac for investigations to pinpoint diagnosis & treatment accordingly
Thanks
