What Should Be Taken By An Elderly HBP Female For High Sugar?

my granny is 82 yrs old. we live in puri. she is a diabetic as well as heart patient .her bp was 160/80 recently checked. we are giving novonorm .5mg tablets twice a day..currently from past few days her sugar shoots above between 250 - 300. please tell us what medicine should be given immediately.

Its always better to consult a diabetologist as she is heart patient having high blood pressure .proper evaluation by doing fasting sugar, After food sugar, Hba1c and kidney functioning test will be better.

Give her a less carbohydrate , low salt , low fat diet .

serve five small meals rather than three big meals

Serve more of whole grains rather than refined cereals.Avoid juices, sweets, carbonated drinks, starches.

Include healthy proteins in the diet, vegetable salads are good sources of fibre.
