What Should Be Taken For Vagus Nerve Relief?

I believe my wife has a vagus nerve entrapment (thyroid tumor with vascular entrapment visualized on ultrasound). She has been seen by a couple of neurologists with the usual scans and feedback tests. She has to take pain meds on and off to help with this condition that has not been diagnosed specifically. Do you know of a way (acupressure/acupuncture/trigger point) that may help with vagus nerve relief. I have been considering prescribing her tegretol because I also suspect possible neuralgia induced by vascular entrapment. your thoughts?
