Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Should Be The Dosage For Combiflam Suspension?
My baby girl is 1 yr and 10mths old.She is having severe cold and cough. Yesterday night she started having fever 102 deg.I gave her calpol infant suspension for 3 times since yesterday. She was okfor a few hrs and again the fever would shoot up. Shall I give combiflam suspension, cos a family doctor had advised me that I can give combiflam suspension instead of meftal (doctors in India generally advise meftal if fever is over 100 deg). However, I can't remember the dosage and my family doc is not picking up the call. She might be busy in operation room. What should the dosgae be for a 1-2 yr old and for 5-6yrs old? How many times should it be given and for how many days before actually going to a doctor fora check-upor starting an antibiotic.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Combiflam supension is given in a dose of 10 mg/kg body weight 3 times daily. After trying for 2 to 3 days better consult a doctor for starting antibiotic.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose. Please feel free to ask any more queries if required. Take care.
