What Should Be The Frequency Of Radiology Treatment For Cancer In Tonsil?
I have cancer on my right tonsil have had ct with dye and dr wants me to have radiology treatment generally how often do i need to have it done ie. Twice a week? Apparently the cancer has been caught early and is cited in the scan results as primary what ever that means. I am female 61 yrs old and an ex smoker of 6 mths thanks
Hi dear. I am your physician, having a vast years long experience in the field of General Surgery, Medicine, Ottorhinolaryngology and Nutrition and weight loss management. I have carefully gone through your case and in my expert opinion the surgeon should have gone for surgical removal and then radioablation(radiology treatment). But its not hard and fast rule. Some cancers are more sensitive to radiotherapy and some are best to be treated with surgery and better to be resected. So it all depends on the type and stage and grade of cancer. If I was your physician I must have known the exact type and diagnosis of cancer and was better in position to give therapy timings and number of radiology visits for radiotherapy. So stick to the plan your physician has chosen for you. He must be trained in that and knows what to do. I hope you get well soon. Stay blessed and happy.
