What Should Be The Level Of HCG During Ectopic Pregnancy?
I have a pregnancy question. I thought i was about 5wks and on Thurs 26/3 hcg level of 159. Mon 30/3 level of 174. Empty uterus on wed 1/4 (ultrasound) Hcg level on 2/4 of 144. Im well aware that this pregnancy is not viable but wouldnt my hcg level be lower then 144 with an empty uterus? Being easter weekend i dont have a drs appt until the 8/4 and i would just like some clarification about whats happening as i and wait until next week. Thank you Leu
As, level of your HCG has come down. Also, uterus is empty. Hence most likelihood in this case is that the ectopic pregnancy, here is not viable. Miscarriage has already occurred or likely to occur. In this condition, HCG level is likely to decrease further. The ectopic pregnancy may be resolved itself by absorption in this case. Still, a close observation is needed to foresee any tubal obstruction which may cause tubal rupture & if the problem is there, it is an indication of surgical intervention.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
