What Should I Do For Painful And Swollen Nose?

hello, I hit my nose against closed glassy door 9 days ago, it was painful and swollen, I could see some deviation right away, I thought it is probably swollen on one side that is why it seems deviated, I didn t have nasal bleeding , I have no problem with breathing, seems like swelling subsided, my nose looks much better but still have a little bit pain now and still can see the deviation. what to do at this point?? shall I still wait ?? Is there any hope that my nose shape will improve after few weeks?? thank you

Hello,

You should see an ENT to rule out fracture of the nasal bones and a condition called septal hematoma wherein blood collects inside the septum of your nose. The reason why you should not ignore is that the shape will not become normal by itself. Anyways, it is not too late as the nasal bone if fractured can only be corrected after the swelling settles down. Please take a profile view photograph of your face taken before this injury so that in case there is a fracture the surgeon will be able to know your original shape and will help him in the correction.
