Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, Welcome to HCM, Yeast infection can stay for longer period of time based on the location of the infection. If there is a favorable environment it can sustain for months to years. Depending upon the site of infection, the duration of treatment varies. For genital infections you need to take treatment for atleast 4 weeks, whereas for fungal infection of hair and nails, you need to take treatment for months.
As you have not mentioned the site of infection, this information will help you to know your condition and to take appropriate treatment. Thank you.
