MY SON IS 19 YESRS OLD AND HE IS HAVING AEC 1450 cells and ESR 28.mm please suggest what i should do to reduce this levels and at present he is taking medicine ODIMONT LC ONE TABLET AT NIGHT IS THIS A SERIOUS PROBLEM PLEASE SUGGEST ME WHAT I SHOULD DO.
Hello and welcome to HCM, AEC stands for absolute eosinophil count. The normal range for AEC is between 200-600 eosinophils per cubic millimeter. Eosinophils are increased in following conditions: 1. Allergies: Asthma, hay fever, urticaria, allergy to dust, mites etc. 2. Parasitic infections 3. Drugs 4. Neoplasms
ESR stands for erythrocyte sedimentation rate. ESR is a non-specific parameter. It is elevated in cases of inflammation.
ESR is raised in infections and inflammations.
Clinical correlation is required to know the cause of eosinophilia. The drug which you are taking is to suppress the level of interleukins. Interleukin is the chemical mediator involved in allergic conditions.
