What Should The ALT Level Be In Case Of Graves Disease?
Hi I am 28 female recently diagnosed with graves diesease and had blood work come back with my alt 40 the first time and the second time 100 can this be sumply from my boding going through the disease and get everything else out of whack or should I get a second opinion from an other doctor other then my endocrinologist
Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Alt is a liver enzyme and has nothing to do with thyroid hormone disorders. Mostly it can rise due to subtle viral infections and come to normal on its own. In case of fatty liver it might remain high. It is indicative of hepatic cellular injury and inflammation. I suggest you relax and keep a lookout on any symptoms like darkening of urine or yellowness of eyes. And get tested after a month. Hope I helped. Thanks
