What Steps To Take To Help Conceive After Removal Of Loop?
Hello Doctor, i am 29 years old mother of 4 years old boy. i live in NewZealand. I had my first baby here itself and myself and my husband together managed by ourselves with out anybody's support . When my son was 2 years old, i became pregnant again and decided for termation as my son was too small..and we don't have any other enough support to continue my pregnancy. then we have been advised to insert string( loop). its been 3 years . now i am looking for my second baby.So what steps should i need to take after i remove my loop inserted..any test to undergo..to confirm everything going with me and i am ready for my next baby..pls need your advise...
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. After the removal of the loop, it is not expected that you would have difficulties in conception. Once the loop is removed, wait for your normal period. Once you have your normal period, you can try for conception around the ovulatory days. Also, take regular folic acid supplements. IT might take some time for the body to adjust to the loop removal, but no long term problems are anticipated. After removal of the loop, contact a gynecologist if 1. You fail to conceive for a year after unprotected intercourse. 2. You fail to menstruate regularly 3 months after loop removal. All the best.
