Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Supplements Should I Take Along With Vyvanse 30 Mg.?
I recently started taking Vyvanse, 30 mg. I read this drug inhibits saliva production and causes dry mouth. Since saliva controls bacteria in the mouth, could an overgrowth lead to a sinus infection? Ive been on this drug for 5 days and developed in an infection within 3 days. I want to know what supplements I should be taking to help boost good bacteria and immunity so I don t keep getting these infections.
hi there Vyvanse, 30 mg contains lisdexamfetamine dimesylate usued for children / adolescents with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. its side effect include dry mouth, excessive grinding of the teeth, acne, profuse sweating, blurred vision, reduced seizure threshold LT to fits in pt with epilesy etc. the longterm side effects include upper respiratory tract infection (21.8%), insomnia (19.5%), headache (17.2%), dry mouth (16.6%), decreased appetite (14.3%), and irritability (11.2%). Ref CNS Spectr. 2009 Oct;14(10):573-85. since in your case history of intake is only of 5 days, so it is unlikely that infection in your mouth is associated with Vyvanse, 30 mg. however as a precaution you should keep yours orodental hygiene good by brushing twice a day, avoid taking uncooked food or food rich in carbohydrates like pizza etc and properly chewing the food with small bites of food.
