Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Tests Are Usually Recommended After Stress Test For Shortness Of Breath?
On vacation I went into a cave exploration with lots of walking, steps up and down, some very steep. I became very short of breath. When the tour was complete, I rested and was OK. After I came home my doctor sent me for a stress test, which I took this morning. I could not finish and was told my doctor would order more test. What test and/or treatment should I expect?Thank you.
I can not come into any conclusion based on your description, as there are many causes that can make a person not to be able to finish this test. If you have high blood pressure or a lung disorder, it is impossible to complete this test. For this reason, you may need to do some blood lab tests and respiratory function tests or a cardiac ultrasound.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
