What Tests Should Be Done For A Child With On And Off Belly Pain, Fatigue, Fever Who Is Diagnosed With Constipation?
Hi there,
My 7 yearo old son has on/off belly pain for 3 months now. I had him xrayed 2 days ago and dr. said he is constipated. Yesterday he had fever and exhausted. He is off school again today very exhausted to the point he has a hard time keeping his eyes open and talking, No fever no pain just exhausted
Any idea what it might be, just a bug or should I get him checked out? He is hungry but when I give him food, he eats very little.

one of the commonest cause for colicky abdominal pain in children is constipation.
Following are the causes of constipation
1. Diet factors. . Consumption of food low in fiber
2 . Inadequate intake of water
3. Postponing defecation
I. Would suggest the followin
1. De worm him using albendazole
2. High fiber diet
3. Plenty of oral fluids
4. Avoiding bread,biscuits, chocolate which may cause constipation.
