What Tests Should Be Done For Pain In Different Sides Of Flank, Recurring UTIs?
why does my husband (who has had several UTI's over a period of several months and is currently on his fourth course of antbiotics) feel the pain in different sides of his flank on different days / also should he be referred to a urologist and what tests should he have?
Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your husband has chronic UTI and now has pain in both the flanks. This could be due to stones in kidneys or ureter .
Please consult qualified urologist for evaluation and get following basic tests to come to diagnosis. 1)Please get his routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to. 2) Ultrasound scanning of the abdomen to rule out presence of urinary stones. 3) Renal function tests .
