What To Do For Enlarged Lymph Nodes Under The Tongue?
I am female, 20 y/o, about 5 feet 5 inches tall. I am having problems with an enlarged lymph node under my tongue. Only my right lymph node is enlarged and my physician said it could be from acne (it's not very inflamed, I constantly have about 3 on my face). But this problem has been here for more than a year now and I haven't noticed this node getting smaller. I don't feel like I've been experiencing any other symptoms.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain it seems that you have an enlarged submandibular lymph node on the right side and the most common cause of swollen submandibular lymph nodes seems to be due to infection in head and neck region or oro-pharyngeal infections.. But in case if the lymph nodes are swollen since years and not resolving since years it can be due to malignancy like Lymphoma.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and FNAC/Biopsy of the lymph node can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. In case if it is past or recent infection or recurring infection then antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers and warm compresses can help.. In case if it is Lymphoma then chemotherapy or Radiotherapy can be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
