Hi, My name is Michael. I met a woman two months ago and just learned she is an alcoholic, she admitted this to me recently. Of course, after waiting this long to tell me about it could honestly issues, but I ve forgiven her and she is being honest in the present. We are close and she is determined to stop and conquer this addition. I m determined to help her through it. We are both Christians and plan to attend a recovery group at the church. What else do you recommend we do to battle this addiction and help the relationship at the same time? Thank you, Michael
Thank you for posting your query . I can understand your concern for this woman you have met. Yes it is definitely possible to overcome alcohol addiction. First of all she should start limiting the amount of alcohol intake. It is difficult to stop drinking at once. Say for example , in the beginning she should limit her alcohol intake only on weekends, then may be once a week , once in 2 weeks and so on. You should encourage her and praise her when she actually limits the alcohol intake. Tell her about the bad effects of alcohol like fatty liver , pancreatitis to name a few. I hope with both of your efforts , you can easily overcome this difficulty. You can post any other question.
