What To Do For Headache And Dizziness Due To A Hit In The Head?
Hi. I fell backwards and banged the crown of my head on the pavement 4 days ago. It was a good hit and dazed me for a few seconds. I m still suffering from bad headaches and I have a strange tingling sensation where I bumped my head. The swelling has went down, I ve not felt sick or dizzy etc. Do I need to get this checked? Thanks.
I read carefully your question and understood your concern!
It is normal to feel this way after a head concussion.
The pain and numbness in the hit region are normal, caused by the inflammation of the surrounding tissues.
I would recommend you to have some rest for some days and avoid a repeated trauma. For the pain I would recommend acetaminophen or ibuprofen for some days.
If the situation aggravatesaggravates later, instead of getting better,it will be necessary to go to the ER and have a brain CT scan to exclude a possible intracranial hemorrhage.
Hope to have been helpful!
Greetings! Dr. Aida
