Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 46 year old female, and have gained 3 to 4 kilos about 6 months ago and am having trouble getting rid of the extra weight. I am 165cm and about 54 kilos. I feel best at about 51 kilos. I exercise regularly (swim 3 to 4 times/ week, 1 kilometer and have added abdominal exercises (100 situp)s and about 30 push ups per day. I think my eating consumption has increased, but I feel hungry or at least like eating. I have improved my eating habits and am drinking more water, I just don't know if I will be able to get these extra 3 kilos off.
Hello, This is Dr. Klarida Papaqako answering your question.
From your description looks like you are doing the right things. It's more difficult to lose weight with the age, but its not impossible.
Exercise is good, but it helps only in 30% of the result. The secret of improving eating habits is by substituting and not removing foods. So adding more fruits and vegetables, who have the filling effect, and going for less foods heavy in fat and carbohydrates. Also, eating frequently and little during day so not to allow yourself to be hungry, eating slowly and with a variety of foods, are components that made the success of what you want to achieve more probable and possible to keep the result in time.
Hope the information helps. Take care.
