General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm,
short answer:before treatment severe head ache has to be evaluated
detailed answer: the evaluations include checking her hydration status and checking her blood pressure. high blood pressure causes headache which has to be treated
she has to check her eye sight with a ophthalmologist. vision disturbances also cause headaches
if there is hypertension she has to take anti hypertensive medications along with meditation and yoga which will decrease the stress.
have adequate water and fluid intake.
use of NSAID will reduce the headache at present but it is not the permanent solution.
if blood pressure and sight is ok then the next thing is to have a CT brain or MRI brain. to know the cause of head ache.
treatment starts after knowing the cause.
hope this explains
with regards
Dr.Amarnath
