What To Do For The Breathing Difficulty And Excess Ear Wax?

Hi, I am a 58 yr old male, 5 10, 185 lbs. who has extremely dry mouth, extreme difficulty breathing thru my nose, wake up with mucous in my throat, constantly have excessive ear wax---have had shortness of breath. Saw an ENT PA who just diagnosed it as Sjodgren s. But I think her diagnosis is way off. This has been going on 2 years.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your history of dry mouth but still have a mucus in the throat on waking up, difficulty in breathing through nose, excessive ear wax and shortness of breath.
To see the reasoning one by one:
- The dryness of the mouth in your case looks basically be due to mouth breathing due to nasal blockage.
- Difficulty in breathing through nose can be deviated nasal septum, or polypi or mass or vasomotor rhinitis.
- The Eustachian tube dysfunction causes the wax to be retained.,
- All these factors in turn give you breathing difficulty.

I would advise you the following:
Consult the ENT and not his PA.
Get a clinical evaluation and CT scan of the nose and sinuses to ascertain the cause and get the proper treatment plan to be implemented to get a permanent relief.
