What To Do For The Pain On The Wrist Which Wrongly Healed Earlier?

Hi. I broke my wrist a couple years ago then they set it wrong and it healed wrong. Then it was rebelled and they put a plate and screws in my wrist. It has been 1 1/2 years now. I am in pain right now and it is swollen. I don't remember doing anything to it. What should I do? Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi , Welcome to healthcare magic ,

First of all please take a fresh x ray . We need to see the fracture site ( whether it is united / malunited ). If the fracture is united then , there is nothing to worry.
There r a few questions which flash to my mind-
-did u sustain trauma to this wrist again anytime recently?
-After the surgery 18 mths back, was there a pain free period or was it there since then?

If there was a pain free interval after the previous surgery, then it is unlikely that this old fracture may be the cause of your pain.Pain may be due to recent injury or due to sprain of the wrist.
PLS take a fresh x ray and if everything seems to be fine, then use a wrist brace for about 2-3 weeks with cold packs. This should take care of it.
