What To Do If Got Hypothyroidism After Thyroid Gland Was Completely Removed?

I had my thyroid gland completely removed in the fall of 2012. I ve been on meds since then. All of a sudden a week ago, I began having the symptoms of hypothyroidism, the most significant, being really cold. Today I also noticed a weight gain of 3 pounds over the last week and I ve been very active, more than usual. Had thyroid test run this last Thurs, TSH was good, T4 was a12, which I understand is higher than normal. No one seems to know what that means or if something needs to be done about it.

Good day,
Noted your concern. If you had your entire thyroid removed, then you need to take levothyroxine for life long. It is a simple medication and treatment is very easy .Are you on levothyroxine now? If yes, what dose? what is your weight?
Could you attach the report of the recent thyroid function test ?

T4 can be on te higher side if you do the thyroid blood tests with in 4 hours of taking levothyroxine.
You could attach the details to http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-binu-parameswaran-pillai/67401

Kind regards
