What To Do If Hands And Arms Still Hurt To Touch After Falling Considering Being Diagnosed As Norapathy?
I fell this morning and when I tried to get up both arms were not working. My husband had to help me up. Right after that my arms and had got really hyper sensitive. The Dr in the emergency said it was norapathy from drinking alchol daily and told me to just rub my hands and arms and the sensation would go away. Now it is over 14 hr. and hands and arms still hurt to touch. Thanks Julie
Neuropathy is the damage to nerve fibers, in your case due to daily consumption of alcohol, as diagnosed by your Doctor in the emergency. The management lies in avoiding the causative agent i.e. alcohol. Symptomatic relief can be obtained with nervigenic agents (like Vit B6, B12, Folic acid) as well as multivitamin & mineral supplementation needs to be added in the diet.
If symptom still persist, kindly consult a Neurologist for proper clinical examination including nerve conduction studies. Meanwhile, maintain adequate hydration, take a healthy balanced diet & avoid stress.
Wishing a good health. Take care.
