What To Do If Having Discolorations In Urine And Semen After Hip Replacement Surgery?
I am 4 weeks post-op from a total hip replacement and am on a blood thinner (Xarelto) and pain med (Tramadol). A few days ago I noticed I was urinating a little blood and then discovered I have a definite brown coloration in my semen. My overall health is good, but I have noticed I am more tired than usual. I have had no organ or tissue damage in the past but am concerned with the discolorations in both my urine and semen.
Hello Thanks for query Based on the facts that you have posted little blood in urine with brown colored semen is due to side effect of blood thinner thta you are taking .
With held Xarelto for couple of days and observe for improvement in your symptoms .
Consult your treating orthopedic surgeon to explore possibility of discontinuing Xarelto for forever as 4 weeks are already over after replacement surgery .
