What To Do If Having Stomach Discomfort, Poor Apetite, Loose Motions, Metallic Taste In Mouth After Taking Vitamin D3 IU?
I have been taking vitamin D3 1000 IU for a week and after the third day i started to have very upset stomach and poor appetite and liquified bowl movement very time i use the bathroom also a slight metal taste in my mouth also the other day i was chopping wood and i was very tired after a couple swings my doc told me that my vitamin d count is low so he put me on the pills once a day but i am having these issues could it be that i am allergic to vitamin d ?
Hi ! Good evening, I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Although the symptoms of metallic taste and loss of appetite could be the side effects of excess vitamin D supplementation orally, I would suggest you to get yourself reviewed by your family physician, who might go for a routine stool test to rule out any chances of intestinal infection causing liquified bowel movements.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
