What To Do If Heart Is Racing After Taking Difene For Backpain?

I took a difene 75mg capsule at 11pm for back pain hoping to get a good nights sleep as I have work tomorrow. It has given me a racing heart & I cannot sleep for love nor money!!Heart is pounding, what can I do...just wait for the effect to wear off??

Difene 75 mg capsule contains diclofenac which belongs to the group of medications known as non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDS is used to treat a variety of painful conditions like arthritis, osteoarthritis, back pain, neck pain, headaches, fever and many more. Side effects of Difene are irregular heartbeat, heart failure, ischemic stroke, heart attack, sleeping difficulties. These risks applied to both men and women of all ages and even at low doses of diclofenac like Difene.

Commonly used painkillers including ibuprofen or diclofenac increase the risk of developing an irregular heart rhythm or heart racing by up to 40 % according to the studies. Studies have found a link between the anti-inflammatories and atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should consult your doctor promptly for medical help.
