What To Do When A Child Have Cough During Sleep?

my child 6y old (known asthmatic)-was on flixotide 50mcg inhaler for 15 months- I ,ve stopped inhaler for 4months -no more attacks.Now he is having cough during sleep for 5wks.Should i put him on flixotide or on ketotifen (mast cell stabilizer) Thanks

As your child is having persistent type of bronchial asthma, he requires controller type of medication for quiet some times and may be for many months .A step down of such medicines is advisable only after going through the record/diary of his symptoms which you need to maintain.
Stopping controller medicines (flixotide) without advice has resulted in recurrence of his symptoms and most likely he needs to be started on the same again.
