What Treatment Is Recommended For Continued Protein Spillage In A Diabetic Person?

Dr. Cobb of the Lubbock VA recommended that I see a nephrologist at UMC. Being a diabetic with continuing protein spillage, she has said that I may need something to aid the kidneys in filtering. If help the s needed from the VA, I was told to let her know.

Hi,

Diabetic nephropathy is a known complication of uncontrolled diabetes. So a detailed examination and investigations for diabetes and kidney damage needs to be followed by needful treatment to improve kidney function (medical treatment along with dialysis may be needed).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
