Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Treatment Is Require According To The Following Widal Test Report?
sir...my widal test report .... test name observed values To TITRE AGGLUTINATION UPTO 1 IN 80 DIL TH TITRE AGGLUTINATION UPTO 1 IN 80 DIL AH TITRE LESS THAN 1 IN 20 DIL BH TITRE LESS THAN 1 IN 20 DIL My doctor told me i having typhoid......what to do now sir?... my platelet count is 1.5 lakhs per cumm
It would be more helpful if you mentioned why the test was ordered. How long you are having fever? The test report you mentioned is normal, and not suggestive of typhoid, although platelet count is on the lower side. But typhoid is diagnosed not just by Widal test alone, but from a combined analysis of symptoms, examination findings and blood tests including blood count, Widal test and more importantly blood culture.
Usually we suspect typhoid when fever persists beyond 5 days without other obvious reason. Kindly discuss with your doctor, or get back with the above said details.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
