What Treatment Is Suggest For Pain In Joints In Elderly Woman?

I am a 65 year old woman who has been experiencing sharp, jolting, excruciating pains just above my left knee. They are electrical in nature and it comes and goes for no reason. It can knock me to the floor and the pain is unbearable for no longer than a few minutes. It s happened numerous times in the last 3 months.

hi,
thanks for your question,
Pain can be of different types. If it is of electrical / radiating type ( i.e. radiating from hip to the knee ) , it is of neurological origin related to sciatic nerve or spinal cord which needs to be assessed by proper clinical evaluation.

If the pain is of dull aching type, only in one joint ,elderly patient , non radiating, increasing on walking and relieved partly with rest it may be due to OSTEOARTHRITIS in which case its severity should be assessed, If mild, quadriceps exercises and physiotherapy. If severe, joint replacement.
I find this answer helpful
