What Treatment To Be Taken For Cold Chills?

My husband had a sudden onset of cold chills. No Fever, just severe shivering. Took a hot bath that didn't really help. The temperature in the house is fine. Not until I wrapped my body around him did the shivering slow down. He is a diabetic. What could this mean?

Hello
Sudden onset of chills but no fever in a diabetic patient may be due to .
1 Urinary tract infection as this is very common cause because due to diabetes there develops urinary tract infection and patient feels shivering .
2 Sometimes low sugar level also causes such type of symptoms , so get in blood examination for sugar level .
3 Since your husband is an old diabetic , hence hypotension or hypertension are very common causes in such type of cases of get in an examination at the time of incident .
As I mentioned above deal accordingly.
Diabetic patients are very prone to infection as well as hypo or hypertension.
Consult a Diabetologist and get his opinion .Get in an ultrasound of both kidneys.
Good luck.
