I am a 41 year old female, 5'9" and approximately 280 lbs. Last night I hit my head pretty hard on the left side and new my temple. I immediately developed a knot and headache. I have had a continuous headache since then and this morning started having nose burns extending up through my forehead, as if I immersed myself in a swimming pool and breathed in water and it started burning. What could that be?
I can understand your concern. According to the history, you had blunt head injury. Swelling or knot at injury site is common. Pain and burning occur due to inflammation or reaction to injury. You can apply ice packs at injury site. If pain still persists, you can take Diclofenac sodium tablet after prescription from doctor.
You need to consult neurosurgeon in case of persistent severe headache which is not decreasing even after pain killers, headache with vomiting, loss of consciousness, fits, any new onset focal deficit, bleeding through nose or ear or throat. Otherwise if no such symptoms, you can wait and watch. No need to worry.
Thanks. Hope it ll help. Take care
