What Was The Solid Pieces In The Stools Of An Breastfed Infant?

Almost seemed like a "solid" stool in his diaper this morning. Two of them, small (about an inch in length each) and a darker olive green color. He is strictly breastfed, but grandparents may have given him some sort of solid last night (they think he's "ready" for solids... :/) Although I and our Pediatrician don't want to start him on solids till 6 months or a bit later. Poop seemed fibrous when pulled apart, and wouldn't smush up...like it was actual pieces of food or something. Confused...

Hello. Thank you for the question. Infant bowel movements can come in all shapes and sizes and colors regardless of the baby's diet. As long as he is reasonably comfortable, it is nothing to ne concerned about.
