Hello. I am on my first week of no medication. I completely weaned off of Effexor, having been taking this medication for years for generalized anxiety disorder. I gained a lot of weight with this medication. I am wondering if I will see any changes within my body and natural weight loss as time passes since I am no longer taking this med. Basically I am wondering if there are any natural body changes from no longer taking this medication. Thank you!
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Weaning off effexor is supposed to be a gradual process to limit withdrawal syndrome.Progressive reduction in dose till you get off it is encouraged. One of the well known side effects of this drug is weight gain.Going off it with some fitness exercises will help you cut down progressively.I will however encourage the following: -Eat in small quantities, healthy and balanced -Regular fitness exercises Hope my answer will help you Best regards
