What Would Be The Life Expectancy Of A 92 Year Old Man With Decreased Appetite?

My father is 92 years old, has trouble walking due to sleeping most of the time, and lately his appetite has gone to almost nothing. He sips water, OJ, eats a few spoonfuls of food, but doesn t show any signs of hunger or interest in food. I give him soft foods, his teeth are bad, but I don t think that s it, as he shows no signs of hunger. He is losing weight. Seems like he s just slowly fading away, which wouldn t be unexpected at his age.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and thanks you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can with my answer.
It is hard to predict something like this, but I suggest to evaluate possible causes of his apetite loss since some disorders of esophagus, stomach and bowel should be considered. It includes gastroscopy and colonoscpy. Also, give him more fluidss and liquid food or protein supplements since this anorexia may lead to serious consquences.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
