What Would Cause Sudden Heavy Menstrual Bleeding With Blood Clots?

I m 47 years old and have had regular periods all my life for month now they have been super heavy with clots up until this week I was supposed to start the 11th and nothing?? I don t feel pregnant and have took home pregnancy test and they say negative. What is going on?

Hi,

Such heavy bleeding at age of 47 can be due premenopausal changes. You should get internally checked up to exclude certain conditions common at this age and be prepared to stand such irregular profuse or scanty periods for couple of years till menopause sets in. Please don't forget to use contraceptive devise to exclude accidental pregnancy.
