Hi,

If you are experiencing digestive problems at night, there could be several potential causes. Here are a few possibilities:
1. Eating too close to bedtime: Eating a large meal or snacking right before bed can lead to indigestion and discomfort. Try to avoid eating anything for at least 2-3 hours before you go to sleep.
2. Acid reflux: Acid reflux is a condition where stomach acid flows back up into the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms. Avoiding trigger foods like tomatoes and white flour products may help, but you may also want to try sleeping with your head elevated to prevent acid from flowing back up into your throat.
3. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): If you experience chronic acid reflux, you may have GERD. This is a more serious condition that requires medical treatment, so you should talk to your doctor about your symptoms.
4. Overeating: Eating too much can lead to discomfort and indigestion. Try to eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day instead of three large meals.
5. Food intolerances: You may be intolerant to certain foods, such as lactose or gluten. Consider keeping a food diary to track your symptoms and see if there is a pattern.

In terms of relieving your symptoms, Tums can help but it is not a long-term solution. If your symptoms persist, you should talk to your doctor about other treatment options. In the meantime, try to identify any trigger foods or behaviors that may be contributing to your symptoms and avoid them as much as possible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
