When I Get Choked On Something Sometimes, Something "goes Down

When I get choked on something sometimes, something "goes down the wrong pipe" you might say, I her excruciating pain going down both my arms down into my hands. The more I choke and can't get my breath the worse it hurts. Then when I recover my arms will remain weak and achy for hours. What could cause this? Is this something neurological or cardiology related?
